Week 32: G6 #biz + #life

Welcome to Blog Week 32 or Week 1; I like the idea that we begin this from the middle-ish of the year. I would like to offer an expectation that this is more of a stream of consciousness from our week - family and business related.  If you recall our family blog, I stopped in 2012 - this is a semi reboot with a lot of life mixed into our adventures along with some work.

Let's start shall we! August 3rd, 2025 marks Madison Alexis’s 18th Birthday.  Our last child has turned 18 and is a newly baby adult.  Being a mom of 4 kids has been my identity for the last 26 years, obviously, I’m more than that as a wife and independent bad ass supporting small businesses transitioning to allowing these babes of mine to live their best lives while I watch on the sidelines (who am I kidding? I’m all in their biz!).  This year has felt like an end but also a beginning.  David and I celebrate our Madi on her 18th birthday together at a local cafe.  She was…getting her nose pierced.  First act of independence I suppose?!  The waitress joined us in our celebration by serving our cinnamon roll with a candle.

It also isn’t a birthday for Madison until we end her day at Din Tai Fung.  Xia long bao soup dumplings are always a good way to celebrate.

The rest of the week was a lot of work stuff wrapped up with soaking up some summer.  We hopped on this trend of doing something every day after work.  My Tik Tok has some of these adventures.  It’s really just us forcing our summer-selves to get out there and do something every day after work or at least 3 days a week.  We haven’t been super great about recording it but we have definitely achieved getting out.

Tuesday, I met with a potential new client that was in a previous space another one of our clients was in.  We hope to work with them as their concept and passion for what they do excites us as well!  Love being surrounded by talented folks to help make their visions come to life.  Working with a new client in the early stages is always ideal, we get to support their growth, support their culture of their organization,  and set up their financial path to be thorough from the start.  They can make effective decisions driven by data for their own growth and dreams they have.
Continuing my mission to get out after work, mid-week I headed over to Kirkland to have dinner (8:45pm dinner - long work days for the both of us) with a childhood bestie at Como.  Carillon Point offers a beautiful sunset and an amazing view of Lake Washington.  I also think their dirty martinis are exceptional.  I look forward to enjoying one every time I go here aside from their delicious menu.

Friday, Devin, Hannah, Maleah (Devin’s girlfriend) and I went to dinner at Amaro in Bothell,  another local favorite.  David went to Top Golf with friends so we used it as a reason for me to not cook.  Devin leaves for school in a couple of weeks and spending time with him and Maleah is important to us before they leave again for school.  We have a full video of us ending our dinner, to Dutch Bros back to me in front of my computer working while watching Bravo.

Saturday, we celebrated our favorite G6 Renovation Carpenter, Max and his lovely bride, Harmony.  A beautiful setting on a large property transformed into a wedding venue covered in hydrangeas (one of my favorite flowers) and baby’s breath.  We had a great day celebrating Max and Harmony with friends.

Fun fact, I bought my dress after work Saturday - 10 min in and out of a store then home to shower, change and head off.   A great end of week 32 - the rest of Saturday was preparing Devin’s move back to Portland to his new home with his gym-rat buddies.

See you soon for Week 33!
