Week 12: G6 #biz + #life

I packed myself up, David had to work to finish the Laurelhurst Project, and headed to Portland early morning.  Madison was home and Hannah was on her way to help with Obi-Wan.   I left early in the morning and got to Portland early in time for brunch.  We had a mission to do Flattop and Salamander for their boozy brunch.  Sunday morning was busy so we went over to Bialy Bird to explore their bialys.  We ordered one and Devin had his first drink, a mimosa with yuzu sake.

We finally got to head over to Flattop and Salamander to start our festivities with the birthday boy.  It feels good to know that I can take a quick trip to Portland and hang out with my son to celebrate him and be a part of his life in Oregon.

We went back to Devin’s apartment and although this photo was of that day, the joy and pride on his face for his first expensive cookware is representative that he is my child.  We geek out on cookware and having your first nice pan to cook with is thrilling.  His apartment is organized very well, his fridge and cook station has Momma’s seal of approval.

Next stop was a cocktail bar before dinner.  I can’t remember the name of this bar but it’s in the Pearl District. It had great cocktails and some snacks.  Afterwards, we headed to Portland City Grill for dinner.  We ended the night pretty mellow considering it was a 21st birthday.  We ate and drank all day.  We hung out and talked all day.  It was a perfect day.  I’m honored he made the time to hang out with me.
