Week 30: G6 #biz + #life

This week felt like a load with the transitions mid-month things…on Tuesday the 21st it was our marriage anniversary. David came home, and I was feeling overwhelmed and wasn't sure if I should leave…there was more I needed to do for work. It was just one of those days. David got home late, too. We decided we needed to eat dinner anyway, so we got ready and left for dinner. We went to our local restaurant that is open later since it was 8:30 pm when we decided to leave.

I had planned for us to stay at the SOMM hotel in Woodinville that weekend. I booked us both facials and massages. We just had to make it to the weekend!

This year has been a special year; Madi went off to her first year of college. David continues to coach at our local high school as the girls' varsity coach. For the first time in 20 years, we weren't headed to soccer games on the weekends. I found ways to fill my time. Shifting time to our business and spending time at cafes or connecting with friends was a great way for me to fill the time. Hannah was still living at home last fall of 2025, so she and I got super close. Hanging out during Daddy's soccer games, eating dinner together when he worked late; it was sad to see her leave the house! I enjoyed my "roommate". After she left, David and I have made it a point to hang out together, and I'm getting used to cooking for two.

It was only a month before Devin came home, so it was a short adjustment, I guess! Anyway, reflecting on the early years of our marriage managing our kids - we dreamt of the day he and I could just focus on us. This feels like it's here. We've traveled more this past year together than we ever have! We certainly can't wait to do more.

We had a nice time together. Feeling relaxed and happy with the life we built together. We feel fortunate to share so much of our life together – business and family.
