Week 38: G6 #biz + #life
Madi’s move week - she found we had a group chat without her. Hannah, Devin, Maleah and I had a special group chat where they/we complained about Madi not hanging out with us before her moving away. She was on my phone and found the chat. Then snapped this unflattering photo to alert the group chat.
She was gone almost every day the week she was moving and we all felt a little butt hurt. We wanted to spend time with Madi. She graced me with a pedicure date the day before we left to move her in.
We did it. We moved that baby into her dorm room for her new college life. I didn’t get a chance to be too sad, she kicked us out promptly to hang with her friends. She’s happy.
We felt like we needed a sweet treat on our way home. We stopped at Grounds Coffee Co is in Mukilteo and gives the “works”. See Hannah’s face for the reaction to her sweet treat. It took us double the amount of time to drive through traffic.
David and I have moved 4 kids into college. We have moved 4 kids into college dorms and have moved 3 out of college dorms. We have moved 3 kids into apartments and out of apartments. The craziest summer was 3 moves in 8 weeks. 2024 - end of June, Hannah moves out of Bellingham back home. In July, Isabelle and Ben moved from their apartment to another apartment in Maryland. August, Devin moves into his dorm in Portland. All while David gets hired as HS Girls’ Varsity Coach for Madison’s last soccer season. What does that mean? He is unavailable to help move between select soccer tournaments because yes, it was also his last year as a select coach for Madison’s select soccer team. 2 out of 3 moves were completed by yours truly. And…I’d do it again. I love being a part of their adult lives.
