Week 37: G6 #biz + #life

This was a week that began with a lot of momentum.  Our baby.  Our youngest.  Our buddy was prepping for her big move to college.  She worked her last shifts at Caffe Ladro and Hello Robin where she spent almost all summer working two jobs to save money (and spend money) doing what she loves, making coffee and eating/slanging cookies. 3 out of our 4 kids have worked as baristas and have been able to work at Caffe Ladro during their breaks to earn some money.

The rest of the week we spent prepping for the big move (an hour and ten minutes away from home).  You’d be surprised how much we needed to move for this little babe. Devin and Maleah came home this weekend to hang with us.  A nice surprise that wasn’t a surprise because Hannah told me three days ahead of time so I kept bothering them about their arrival home so we could plan a family dinner out.

We hear stories of being empty nesters.  I guess this is the era - I have to say, I much prefer a loud house full of kids than the quiet.  Good thing Hannah is like a gremlin with Obie and I can count on them to run around the house.

We also did a fun Tik Tok that you may have seen on Tik Tok @g6renovation or as a reel on Instagram (same handle @g6renovation).  We had this wild idea to do “walk in” songs.  What song speaks to your entry to work.  We also did a round of headshots and a group photo (minus Isabelle who lives in Maryland).

The week kicked off with our new client, Cloudy Cafe.  Chef Dionne is prepping her biggest creation yet, her cafe!  This Indonesian inspired cafe will share Dionne’s culture with her talents of beautifully baked goods that will be sure to delight the Ballard neighborhood.

We are super excited to be a part of another opening of a small business in Seattle.  We are hustling to ensure Dionne can focus on her craft while we support her retail operations.  Stay tuned for more Cloudy Cafe progress on their Instagram, @cloudycafeseattle.

I was invited to the DeLille soft open with Andrew Rubinstein from Hey Bagel and the owner of DeLille, Jay Soloff.  It was an honor to be a part of this beautiful new cafe at the University Village.  The space is impressive.  It has all the class you’d expect from DeLille while providing delicious bites with the best wine.  D2 is a favorite of ours.  We treat it as a celebration wine; we treat ourselves to D2 whenever we are out for a date night.

I cannot wait to go back to this cafe with David.
