Week 23: G6 #biz + #life
David and Eddie headed back to Washington. I headed to Ohio for work. My favorite coffee shop in Ohio, Portal West Coffee. Seeing Paul and his team is always a treat. Paul and his manager, Nick, just returned from Guatemala at the end of April, so I was able to hear all about their adventures seeing our friends, Oscar (our coffee buyer from Seattle Coffee Works), and La Esparanza. It is a special place, and I'm so happy Paul is continuing to share his passion for coffee from seed to cup with his team.
Paul always wanted to continue his career as a coffee roaster; a coffee shop wasn't in the plan until he found a Synesso at a perfect price. Then, Portal West Coffee was actualized into this community where hospitality transcends your run-of-the-mill coffee experience. It is truly special. They remember me. Me, who visits once every 3 months, this coffee community is excited to see how we continue to support Paul from the West Coast.
A moment for my travel bags. I never thought I'd be a traveling work person, and here I am, a traveling work person. I feel it's important for my sanity to ensure my shit is straight. I tried out these new bags. Parallelle Bags have been a game changer. 10/10 I recommend. I've used CalPak prior, but cleaning these bags is also important because ya know…stuff spills, schmears, and gets gross - I need to be able to have a clean bag with all my (what David calls) lotions and potions.
It was a quick visit. All of two days and I headed home to my puppy and Devin. Oh, and David.
