Week 15: G6 #biz + #life
For the first time in 16 years, I didn’t host Easter. Devin went to see Morgan Jay in Eugene, OR, Maleah’s family was coming to see them on Easter, Eddie was in Arizona, Isabelle’s never really home on Easter because it’s so close to her finals week. And, I quite frankly forgot to send an invite to the fam so with Eddie away, too, we had an idea to go out to brunch. We went to Ascend for Easter brunch. I didn’t think it was going to be as pricey as it was…but still worth all the time and effort to just go somewhere and be served! Hannah and Madi came home and we had a great time. We went to W in Bellevue - David taught Madison how to play pool.
Later that week, I was preparing to head to Vegas to see Bruno Mars with David. By prepping I mean, jamming our work week in 4 days. I thought we were flying out of Everett and this photo is me after I was filled with anxiety leaving our house at 7am for a 9:30am flight out of SeaTac. I just cannot…ugh.
David and I didn’t go into with too much of a plan other than seeing Bruno Mars. We landed early afternoon on Friday and started planning our night out. We went to Amaya in the Cosmopolitan Hotel. The fire dancers were a highlight along with the cocktails and food. The DJ also was excellent!
My favorite form of relaxation is in front of a pool or beach. An Aperol spritz in hand and reminding David to put sunscreen on - it’s like an Olympic sport to remind him to lather SPF on. We had a lot of fun hanging out and I wish every day was like this. Okay, maybe not every day but I wish we did it more often…
You ultimately have to find follow our Instagram, @g6renovation to see all the fun we had in Vegas at Bruno Mars. We danced the night away Saturday night and then made this hellish walk from Allegiant Stadium to Mandalay Bay. When I say hellish it’s because I was in heels. 65,000 fans made this walk to get out of the stadium. As we returned to Mandalay bay, the taxi line was so deep. Deep. I pulled a bell hop and asked if there were any private cars. He said, yes, I said “how much?” - he said “$100”. Sold. Literally, anything to get me outta there….
They only had a Hummer Limo…David and I were the only ones in this Hummer Limo making our way back to the Bellagio. We got to Bellagio, changed my shoes, and headed to In and Out. We were starving. We hadn’t eaten since 3pm at Momofuku. We wanted to go to the Pinky Ring to catch Bruno but at $1600/ticket we decided to wander the casino and hang out. Did I talk about Bruno Mars merch? Madi wanted the Hello Kitty x Bruno Mars merch and we were not standing in that line…holy moly. It would’ve been hours. Hours.
