Week 7: G6 #biz + #life

I planned our Ohio trip, not thinking about two things - the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day.  I ended up doing it again, we traveled on Super Bowl Sunday (Seahawks won - that’s about all I know), and I did watch Bad Bunny’s performance, which was incredible on TikTok.

It was a packed 3 days in Akron, Ohio.  We met with Portal West Coffee to get their e-commerce ready - we shipped coffee to ourselves! We rolled out a 401k benefit for the staff and announced the coolest opportunity with Portal West Coffee - a trip to Guatemala to hang out with our good friends who produce coffee.  And, our favorite Barista Champion, Teco, and our friend, Oscar, who we’ve known for years as our coffee buyer since 2018.  Paul’s mission is to buy direct.  I look forward to sharing this experience with Paul and his manager, Nick.  It’s incredible to come full circle to share the opportunities with our friends who work hard to produce incredible coffees.

Portal West Coffee is also in the process of expanding their space.  We also have a fun collaboration/partnership with Jamtooth Baking Co.  Katie and Paul are headed into year 3 together.  Katie produces the tastiest treats made with all the love.  I have the honor of working with both of them as our clients.  I am floored that this is what I get to do for work.  It’s like hanging with my besties to build out strategies for their dreams and keep their financial health as a top priority. 2026 will be huge for these two clients, and we are committed to supporting their goals.

Paul always loves sharing his connections with other local small businesses.  We visited Kabylia Baguette. While Jamtooth Baking Co took a bit of a break, this new bakery stepped in.  I was excited to try their cardamom bun; the internet was buzzing about it when Portal West Coffee had them.

Next stop, DC, to hopefully sign some clients and see my baby, Isabelle.  Joe headed home to his pups and Taryn.

I landed in DC on Thursday morning.  Joe landed in Seattle.  I headed straight to see Isabelle.  We got a few days to hang and it was perfect.  I got to love on her, spoil her with food, and hang out with my best friends, Danielle + Tali.  It is a whirlwind of a trip, but I’m thankful for it every time.  Ben and Isabelle are super kind to let me crash their Valentine’s Day.  I decided to leave Valentine's Day so they could hang out.

On a plane now to Seattle - excited to see David, Hannah, and my puppy!
