Week 9: G6 #biz + #life
Week 8 actually ended with a Doomsday (February 19th) tradition of something going horribly wrong. February 19th, 2019, Isabelle, after a visit home from college, ended up in the hospital with bacterial meningitis. February 19th, 2020, our house experienced a catastrophic flood from our primary bathroom that put us out of our house just before the pandemic for 9 months.
We were cautious of this day; to my recollection, nothing bad had happened until this year. We did make it a point to not do much that day. Just stare at each other. Hannah’s driving home from work, and her just over a year old car gets rear-ended with such an impact that it is totaled.
The good news is she is safe. Amid the tragic loss of her car, she is safe. Her body is safe, and the rest will be figured out.
We planned a trip on Sunday to Portland to hang out with Devin and Maleah. See their new apartment and get some tax-free IKEA shopping for Hannah, who is moving out with her partner, Finn, mid-March. I think we achieved all the things in a small amount of time, and we are always grateful to hang out with Devin in Portland.
We ate well, drank delicious coffee from Slow Haste and always a nice pourover from Proud Mary. Then, the trek back to Seattle.
The end of the month was pretty uneventful, other than prep for the beginning of the month. We are working our way through with some potential new clients with promised futures that we have the opportunity to help support them with, and it ignites our team to see a new biz get their foundation laid out with us.
